Worth knowing before you order
Buying direct from China has real trade-offs. Here they are up front.
How long does an order take?
Usually 6–13 weeks from order to your door: production time plus sea freight. If you need stock sooner, tell us early. Air freight is possible but changes the cost.
Who is responsible for EU compliance, like CE marking?
You are. When you buy this way, you're the importer of record into the EU. That means checking the manufacturer's declaration of conformity and technical documentation, making sure required markings like CE are genuine, and not selling a non-compliant product.
We help vet certificates and coordinate inspections, but we don't take ownership of the goods, so that legal responsibility stays with you.
What do FOB and DDP mean?
They're Incoterms, the standard rules for who pays for transport and who carries the risk along the way. With FOB (Free On Board), the factory delivers to the ship in China, and freight, insurance and import are yours from there. With DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), the supplier delivers to your door with duties paid.
You agree the term directly with the supplier. We explain what it commits you to before you sign.
Is there a minimum order?
Each factory sets its own minimum order quantity (MOQ). We tell you the MOQ before you commit and negotiate it where we can.
Do you work with small orders?
Yes. For orders under about $3,000–5,000 we rely on supplier photos and platform buyer protection rather than a paid inspection, so the cost of checking stays in proportion to the order.
What if I don't end up placing an order?
Your quote sets out the deposit and what it covers before you pay anything. If no order goes ahead, the deposit covers the sourcing work already done.
